Wijaya Kusuma Contractors has a rich history that predates its formal inception. Even before its official founding, the company built the first Presidential Office of Indonesia, showcasing its dedication to quality and excellence from the outset.
One of our most notable projects occurred in 1974 when we undertook significant renovations on the State Palace of Indonesia in Jakarta to accommodate the state visit of Queen Elizabeth. This project highlighted our capability to handle high-profile, complex assignments with precision and excellence.
In 1975, Wijaya Kusuma Contractors embarked on a landmark public project: the development of the first stage of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, a cultural and recreational park that remains a cherished national treasure. Our involvement in this project underscored our commitment to contributing to Indonesia's cultural heritage.
In 1982, we built Asias first IMAX theater, Keong Emas, at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. This engineering marvel, with its hyperbolic paraboloid dome shaped like a golden snail, featured a 21.5 x 29.3-meter screen and 847 seats, making it the largest IMAX theater of its time.
In the healthcare sector, Wijaya Kusuma Contractors made a significant impact by building Indonesia's first Cancer Hospital in 1991, which remains one of the largest cancer hospitals in the country. This project highlights our commitment to improving the nation's healthcare infrastructure.
