One of the most critical aspects of the Dharmais construction, completed by Wijaya Kusuma Contractors in 1993, was the development of specialized clean room operating theaters and advanced medical facilities within the 63,540-square-meter hospital. Among the many specialized areas, the construction of MRI and X-ray facilities required the use of special concrete to ensure the proper shielding from radiation. This specialized concrete was designed to prevent radiation leakage, ensuring the safety of both medical staff and patients. The use of this material demanded a high level of expertise to meet stringent healthcare and safety regulations.

In addition to the complex requirements of the clean rooms, WKC collaborated with medical engineers to design spaces that accommodated the advanced equipment used in these diagnostic areas. The implementation of special concrete for the MRI and X-ray rooms was just one aspect of the detailed construction plan, which also involved ensuring the proper environmental controls, soundproofing, and shielding essential for these sensitive medical facilities. These facilities, along with the 244 rooms throughout the hospital, reflect WKC’s capability to deliver high-quality medical infrastructure that meets international standards.

The successful execution of these complex requirements solidified WKC’s reputation as a leading contractor in the healthcare sector. By integrating special concrete and advanced building materials for MRI and X-ray facilities, Wijaya Kusuma Contractors showcased their ability to manage the technical and safety aspects of constructing a large-scale, specialized medical center like Dharmais. This project continues to play a crucial role in Indonesia’s healthcare landscape.
