In 2010, Wijaya Kusuma Contractors completed the construction of the W Hotel and Resort in Bali, a project that highlighted both the company's expertise and Bali’s rise as a world-class luxury destination. Designed by the renowned Singapore-based architecture firm SCDA, the W Hotel and Resort spans almost 29,000 square meters and includes 144 luxurious room keys. The resort was conceived to embody cutting-edge modern design while embracing the natural beauty of Bali. SCDA’s vision was to create a resort that reflected the W brand’s bold, contemporary aesthetic, integrating expansive open spaces, private villas, and high-end amenities that catered to an international clientele.
One of the most interesting aspects of the W Hotel and Resort construction was the challenge of aligning SCDA’s striking architectural vision with Bali’s environmentally conscious landscape. WKC had to navigate complex site conditions, including the coastal terrain, while ensuring that the resort blended seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Sustainable building practices were incorporated into the design, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maintaining the resort’s luxury appeal. The lush gardens, open spaces, and eco-friendly construction methods reflected the commitment to preserving Bali’s natural beauty, an essential part of the overall concept.
The successful completion of the W Hotel and Resort in 2010 solidified WKC's reputation as a leading contractor in Bali's luxury hospitality sector. Collaborating with SCDA, WKC delivered a resort that has become a symbol of luxury and modernity in Bali. The project demanded the highest standards of craftsmanship and the ability to work closely with international designers to bring this sophisticated vision to life, showcasing WKC’s capability in executing complex, high-end projects in one of Indonesia’s most competitive markets.
