Wijaya Kusuma Contractors successfully completed the construction of the Central Market at Pantai Indah Kayu for Agung Sedayu Group in 2022. This project, carried out as a crash program, required an accelerated timeline and precise coordination to meet the client’s demands. The market is designed to offer a unique semi-outdoor shopping experience, blending modern retail functionality with an open, natural atmosphere. Throughout the project, a strong emphasis was placed on sustainability, aligning with the goal of creating an environmentally conscious space.
This project boasts a contemporary tropical lifestyle concept, featuring lush green landscapes in every corner of the structure to provide comfort to visitors, perfectly aligning with the Back to Basic campaign. Additionally, the market utilizes 60% of its energy from solar panels and incorporates a natural cross-ventilation system, supported by biophilic design principles that seamlessly blend the building with nature, enhancing natural lighting and air circulation.
The establishment further incorporates raw materials such as natural stone and reclaimed wood throughout its structure, showcasing its commitment to environmental responsibility. As a result of these sustainable efforts, Central Market PIK has been awarded a green building certificate, making it the first establishment in PIK to achieve this recognition. Furthermore, tenants and visitors are encouraged to support a sustainable ecosystem through initiatives like the No Plastic campaign. This project is a testament to our ability to deliver high-quality results under tight schedules while embracing sustainability and innovation.
