The construction of Tempo Magazine's headquarters and printing facility in Slipi, Jakarta, completed by Wijaya Kusuma Contractors in 2015, was a project filled with unique challenges and remarkable engineering solutions. Designed by a talented architect who envisioned a modern and functional space, the building spans nearly 14,000 square meters over nine floors. One of the key challenges of the project was that the printing facility had to remain fully operational throughout construction. To accommodate this, WKC ingeniously constructed a steel cage over the massive press printing machine, ensuring it continued to function without interruption. This was particularly crucial during the 2014 Indonesian election, as the press was used to print voting ballots while construction was ongoing.

The architect's design aimed to create a space that balanced the functional needs of Tempo Magazine's printing operations with the aesthetic and logistical demands of their new headquarters. The integration of modern architectural elements with the practical requirements of a high-functioning printing facility exemplified the project’s complexity. Despite these challenges, the vision was realized, blending form and function into a cutting-edge workspace that supported the daily operations of Tempo Magazine.

WKC’s ability to manage the delicate balance between construction and ongoing operations in this high-stakes environment was a testament to the company’s expertise. The project's successful completion in 2015 not only delivered a state-of-the-art headquarters for Tempo Magazine but also highlighted the innovative collaboration between WKC and the architect, creating a landmark facility in Jakarta’s media landscape.
